KWNK 97.7FM is Reno’s first freeform, non-commercial, community radio project. After nearly a decade of work to bring this project to fruition, KWNK officially launched on Oct. 31, 2017, on 97.7FM with a slate of more than 50 volunteer DJs and programming from 4pm-4am daily.
The KWNK Radiothon is a community-driven, listener-driven fundraising campaign to ensure KWNK’s future on-air, online, and in our community. This is KWNK’s first membership drive, and its most important. Meeting our goal solidifies the station within our community, while also growing it in very important ways, including: taking the station to 24-hr programming; providing online streaming and show archiving; purchasing necessary equipment and supplies; and more.
