Lemond Chambéry

Our bike of the month of June is a 1997 Lemond Chambéry, a 19-lb. triathlon/road bike. These increasingly collectible bikes were produced by Trek for Lemond for 3 years (’97 was the first year). The OCLV stock frame also carries the Air Rail carbon fork, with the only difference from Treks of the same year being the Lemond paint job (including geometry identical to the Trek 5000, 5200, 5500, etc., instead of Lemond’s geometry). We’ve managed to keep the bike close to stock, subbing in appropriate after-market parts: it’s fully-refurbished and built with Cinelli bars & forged stem, a lovely, complete Shimano 600 group, carbon seatpost, Selle Italia ergo saddle, Mavic hubs & Velocity Deep V rims, finished with new Continental 23c Grand Prix 3000 clinchers. The XL (59cm) frame will fit someone 5’11”-6’3″ with a $600 budget and a need for speed.
