Camp Shred

Want to make sure your kid spends at least a week of the summer outdoors, riding bikes and having fun? If so, look into enrolling them in one of our cycling camps for teens and pre-teens! At our introductory Major Taylor Ride Camp, we learn road safety, bike handling, mechanics, and more skills; all while exploring the Truckee Meadows and doing fun activities on road and mountain bikes. At only $125 per head, the Major Taylor Ride Camp is fun, physical, and affordable. Enroll in one of three public day camp sessions: June 18-22, or June 25-29, or July 9-13!

Got a shredder or two in your family? If your child already has the basics of bike riding down and is enthusiastic about mountain biking, and ready to hone more advanced skills, sign them up for the $150 Major Taylor Intermediate Mountain Biking Camp¬†from July 23-27. It’s also a great continuation for those who finish one of the introductory camps earlier in the summer and are ready to step up to the intermediate level. This group will gain intermediate road safety, advanced bike handling, mechanics, and more; and they get the skinny on some of the best mountain biking opportunities in Reno!

Sliding scale pricing is available on both of our camp tuitions for families who need it. Making camp affordable for all is important to us, but our margins are already pretty minimal. Consider making a contribution to our Camp Scholarship Fund to support discounted tuition for families who need a little help! We look forward to riding with and getting to know your kiddo over break. Please send any questions to our Youth Programs Coordinator, Brandi.
