LeMond Buenos Aires

Our bike of the month in March is this 2000 LeMond Buenos Aires. The Buenos Aires falls squarely in the middle of its contemporary lineup of Reynolds 853 steel road bikes (the fork is carbon). It comes basically stock, with a Shimano 105 group, Rolf Vector wheels, and Selle Italia Flite saddle. Like other road bikes from LeMond’s Trek era, this bike shares a design philosophy of slacker-than-average seat tube (59cm) angles and longer-than-normal top tubes (58cm) for a given size frame. 2000-’01 was a transitional period for LeMond, after which their road bikes no longer came with quill stems. This was the second-largest size made and will fit cyclists 6′-6’3″. It’s been fully overhauled and is on sale for $400.
