Electric Bike Demo Day

Saturday, August 12 | 10a-1p | Fleishmann Planetarium

Reno Bike Project is now proud to offer electric bicycles from the Toronto-based bicycle company, Opus, for demo and sale. We envision a future where more motorists leave their cars at home and ride bikes instead, and we think embracing e-bikes moves us in that direction.

We know e-bikes are as new to many in our community as the are to us, so we invite you to form your own impressions with a free e-bike demo on August 12, from 10a to 1p at UNR’s Fleischmann Planetarium. Come take a ride on the newest e-bike technology, and experience the future of bicycle travel. We will also be offering a Demo Day discount of 10% ($280) off e-bike sales that day. RSVP on Facebook!

The models we currently offer for demo and sale are the Opus WKND flat-bar road bike design and the CONNECT city bike design with a step-through frame, euro style.

Community Rides

Check this space as well as our front page, newsletter, and social media for updates on this year’s community ride events!

July 22: Pride Ride

RBP is reviving one of our most fun and asked-about events from two years ago: the Pride Ride! There’s plenty of overlap between the cycling and LGBT+ communities, and during this year’s Northern Nevada Pride Parade & Festival, we’re going to honor that commonality, and support Our Center and their work!

May 7: The Great Cycling Community Cleanup / Bike Ride

Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful is hosting their Great Community Cleanup and we’re riding to the Dorokstar Park site to do our part as cyclists and beautify this area along the Tahoe-Pyramid Bikeway!

And see our legacy of rides from the past couple of years by following the links: in 2016 we rode 44 miles with over 145 riders. In 2015 we covered 40 miles with over 450 riders!

Bike Valet

In an effort to encourage people to ride their bikes to cultural events and gatherings, Reno Bike Project provides a secure, hassle-free, exhaust-free Bike Valet Parking service for public events throughout the year. No need to bring a lock. This service is safe and secure with volunteers watching your bike the entire time. Just look for the giant Bike Valet sign and ask a volunteer to park your bike.

Borrow the Valet Racks

We will loan out the bike racks given that it does not conflict with our calendar of events. Generally we have lent the racks to bike races, long group rides, charity events, etc. We gladly accept donations for equipment use. If you are interested in borrowing or using the bike racks for an event of your own please call (775) 323-4488 or contact us.
